The AVIF format is one of the most advanced image formats in use today. Based on the AV1 video codec, it achieves compression ratios that outperform even WebP — offering the comparable image quality as JPEG at about half the storage.But, AVIF is still a new standard and is not fully accepted with all applications, OS versions or design software.
